BRITISH CYCLING announced today it is aiming to publish a new version of its transgender and non-binary participation policy by spring next year.

The previous policy was suspended pending review in April — only a few months after it was introduced in January — after world governing body the UCI stepped in to prevent Emily Bridges from competing at the British National Omnium Championships.

In an update issued today, British Cycling put a timetable on delivering a new policy for the first time, saying the ongoing consultation process will conclude in the new year before a revised policy is drafted and begins the formal approval process.
