Goalless draw is enough to put the Mersey boys back on top

DESPITE a lacklustre display in front of goal, Liverpool went back to the top of the Premier League following a 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

With Manchester City not playing in the league due to their participation in the League Cup against Chelsea at Wembley, the Reds had the chance to give themselves a three point cushion in the race for the title.

But in a game plagued by injuries, in particular for United who had used all their substitutions by half-time, Jurgen Klopp’s side only managed one shot on target in 90 minutes having had the lions share of possession.
