Scottish government slated for spending hundreds of thousands on spin doctors

SCOTTISH Labour hit out at the SNP-led government yesterday for spending more than half a million pounds of public money on spin doctors at Glasgow’s health board.

With healthcare staff across the country struggling to cope with demand, the party revealed that a staggering £653,405 is being spent on 13 spin doctors at the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board.

The board’s communications department is responsible for publicity for healthcare services across the area — including at the crisis-hit Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, which is facing a public inquiry following a series of tragic deaths.
