SNP minister to step down next year
Natalie Don MSP arrives for an SNP group meeting at the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood, Edinburgh, June 13, 2023

ANOTHER SNP minister will join the exodus from the Scottish Parliament at next year’s Holyrood election.

Natalie Don-Innes, MSP for Renfrewshire North and West, has announced she will not stand for re-election in 2026, saying that it was the “most difficult decision” she has ever made.

Ms Don-Innes was elected in May 2021, swiftly climbing the ranks to her present post as minister for children and young people, but she came under fire for her absence from the year-long struggle to protect people seeking asylum from the far right in Erskine.
