Socialist MSP brands SNP-Green Scottish government's land reforms ‘too timid’
Scottish Labour MSP Mercedes Villalba

SOCIALIST MSP Mercedes Villalba branded SNP-Green Scottish government land reforms “too timid” today as she took her campaign for tougher action to Trump’s doorstep.

Scotland has the most concentrated land ownership in Europe, with vast tracts of land remaining in the hands of a super-rich few in patterns of ownership largely unchanged since for centuries.

Just 432 landlords hold a staggering 50 per cent of the country’s rural landmass, and Labour MSP Ms Villalba has launched her land justice campaign to win a limit on land ownership to 500 hectares unless public interest tests are met.
