South Sudanese officials strip and rob peacekeepers

SOUTH SUDANESE officials stripped, assaulted and robbed international monitors mandated to supervise the country’s peace deal with rebels, a leaked report reveals.

Four east African monitors from the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism were blindfolded, tied up, kicked and had their cash and a wedding ring stolen.

The three men were stripped to their underwear but the sole woman was stripped naked, an internal report from the organisation states.
