STAFF at 26 colleges in England are set to take unprecedented strike action over plummeting take-home pay, the University & College Union (UCU) announced today.

The 10 days of industrial action, which will take place between September 26 and October 20, amounts to the biggest set of strikes ever in further education, the union said.

It comes after nearly 90 per cent of the union’s members in the sector backed walkouts on a 57.9 per cent turnout in July.
