Armed militia hand over weapons in Syrian city of Dara

TERRORIST gangs resumed their surrender of weapons in the Syrian city of Daraa al-Balaad yesterday as government forces seek to restore stability to the region.

Militants remaining in the city near the Jordanian border gave up arms including machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and shells at a settlement centre in the al-Arbaeen district.

The amnesty is part of an agreement reached with the armed groups regarding their legal status, allowing for their safe passage from the city, which will come under the control of the Syrian government army.
