FEMICIDE has rocketed in Bolivia with 83 women killed this year, the Special Force to Combat Violence (Felcv) warned this week.

According to data collected by the organisation, which was established by the government of ousted president Evo Morales, there were 14,464 cases of violence against women recorded in Bolivia between January and August.

Most of them took place during the country’s Covid-19 lockdown, according to Felcv national director Juan Carlos Alarcon.
