Ousted former Pakistani PM Imran Khan demands immediate election after thumping victory in Punjab
Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan

OUSTED former prime minister Imran Khan has demanded fresh national elections Pakistan after his Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) party swept to victory in Punjab province today.

Preliminary results gave PTI 15 of the 20 seats up for grabs in the by-elections, with the 13-party alliance led by Prime Minister Shebhaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) winning just four.

It was a heavy blow for the PML-N on its home turf and gives renewed impetus to Mr Khan’s demand for a national poll.
