Scottish Labour demands action on ‘crumbling’ NHS buildings
Then health secretary Humza Yousaf speaks with the media as he attends the launch the Right Care, Right Place awareness campaign, November 2, 2022

SCOTTISH Labour has today demanded answers from the Health Secretary on Scotland’s “crumbling” NHS buildings.

The Scottish government has confirmed that dozens of schools were built using reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac), but the number of NHS buildings affected remains unknown.

A survey of 254 NHS buildings is now underway, but Scottish Labour’s Jackie Baillie has now written to SNP Health Minister Michael Matheson demanding to know when the dangers of this concrete were first raised with the government and what action was taken.
