STRIKING Woolwich Ferry workers in London have made waves by winning a “massive pay victory,” bringing years of industrial unrest to an end, Unite has announced.

The transport union confirmed on Monday evening that, following a series of walkouts against low wages and bullying, the “absolute determination of staff has ultimately delivered an excellent deal which at long last recognises the contribution they make.”

Car park assistants are set to pocket a 26 per cent salary increase from next month, plus an additional 7 per cent for weekend working, it said.
