Hundreds of Merseyside NHS workers to strike this week over pay

NEARLY 300 NHS workers on Merseyside will strike on Wednesday over plummeting take-home pay, GMB has confirmed.

Nurses, healthcare assistants, support staff, cleaners and admin workers at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust were due to launch a 24-hour walkout just after midnight, the union said today.

NHS staff nationwide are downing tools after Tory ministers imposed a 4 per cent wage award for 2022-23, well-below soaring double-digit inflation.
