UCU members renew strike mandate at Manchester College
UNDERPAID staff at the Manchester College have beaten anti-union laws and overwhelmingly backed further strikes, the University & College Union (UCU) announced today.
More than nine in 10 of its members at the further education institution have voted to extend their industrial action mandate by another six months on a turnout of 60 per cent, smashing arbitrary Tory thresholds.
The workers have already taken eight days of walkouts after bosses raised wages by just 1 per cent for 2021-22, alongside a one-off payment of the same amount.
