MANCHESTER CITY and Manchester United shared the points from an entertaining 1-1 derby draw which took place in front of more than 44,000 fans at the City of Manchester Stadium today.

Leah Galton capped a fine move to put the Red Devils in front in the 27th minute but United’s wait for a league win over their local rivals continues after Laura Coombs headed City level just before the hour.

Neither side was ready to settle for a draw and both had late chances to win it, with Bunny Shaw going close for City before Alex Greenwood made a late match-saving tackle to deny Lucia Garcia in front of goal in stoppage time.
