Staff to strike at University of Sheffield International College over pay

STAFF at an international college in northern England are set for three days of strikes over low pay, the University and College Union (UCU) confirmed today.

The walkouts – the first ever to take place in a privatised higher education provider – will hit the University of Sheffield International College between Monday and Wednesday next week.

Staff will then work to rule, which includes adhering strictly to their contracted hours and refusing to make up work lost or cover for absent colleagues, from next Thursday, the union said.
