The collective won't stop sewing until it has reached the same size as the west London tower block

GRENFELL survivors and supporters have been sewing a giant memorial quilt in honour of 72 people killed in the devastating 2017 blaze.

Local artist Tuesday Greenidge, 55, whose daughter survived the fire, started the project nearly five years ago with the aim of creating a quilt the same size as the west London tower block.

Five years on, Ms Greenidge has reached her goal of sewing the width, reaching 72ft (22m), and says the group will continue until the quilt is the height of the tower at 220ft (67m).
