KDP moves soldiers and armoured vehicles to guerrilla held region in Iraqi Kurdistan

IRAQI Kurdistan’s leading party has deployed armed forces and vehicles close to the guerilla-held Metina area in Duhok province, it was reported today.

Peshmerga fighters belonging to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) mobilised to the so-called Medya defence zones in the area close to the Turkish border.

A convoy of armoured vehicles was accompanied by ambulances, raising fears of an imminent operation against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
