College lecturers in north-west England vote to ballot for strikes over pay
Members of the University and College Union (UCU) during their rally in Glasgow, at the start of their 10 days of industrial action over pay, pensions and working conditions

LECTURERS at six colleges in north-west England have voted to ballot on strike action over pay.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) will launch the ballot unless employers meet their proposals for an “inflation-plus” pay increase with a minimum of 8.5 per cent.

RPI inflation stood at 7.5 per cent in December.
