Croydon University Hospital porters and cleaners consider striking in a dispute over low wages

OUTSOURCED workers at a south London hospital are set to be balloted for strike action in a dispute over low wages and a lack of sick pay, GMB announced today.

Following an indicative ballot earlier this month, the health union confirmed that the porters and cleaners at Croydon University Hospital have backed moving to a formal vote.

Dozens of the workers, employed by contractor G4S, could strike if they support walkouts in the two-week ballot, which opens on March 14, GMB warned.
