PLANS to “look again” at mandatory vaccinations for workers are “long overdue,” health unions said today after the government scrapped the requirement on front-line health and social care staff.

Ministers have been facing pressures to put back the requirement for staff in England to be double jabbed by April amid fears it will lead to a major staffing crisis.

Front-line NHS and wider social care staff would need their first dose by Thursday at the latest.
