US embassy in Baghdad targeted in drone attack
Abu Alaa al-Walae, commander of the Iran-backed militia Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhadam, has vowed retaliation against US forces in Iraq

MISSILES were fired at the US embassy in Baghdad yesterday, in the latest attack on Washington’s occupation forces in Iraq since they killed four anti-Isis fighters and a child last week.

“Early on the morning of July 6, defensive systems at the US embassy compound in Baghdad engaged and eliminated an airborne threat,” the embassy confirmed in a statement.

No casualties were reported after the facility was targeted by several drones, which activated anti-aircraft systems.
