Global food costs rising at fastest rate since 2010
THE global cost of food has risen at the fastest monthly rate in more than a decade, the United Nations revealed today.
Food prices were up by a massive 39.7 per cent last month compared to May 2020, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s food price index.
The index tracks the price of a range of foods across the world including cereals, dairy products, meat and sugar.
