Poll shows most British people want public services from transport to Royal Mail returned to public hands
AN OVERWHELMING majority of the British public want taxes to be spent on public services, a poll revealed today.
Eighty-two per cent of respondents said that healthcare and education should be run in the public rather than private sector, according to a new study by campaign group We Own It.
On the subject of public transport, 73 per cent said it should be nationalised, while 69 per cent said Royal Mail should be renationalised after it was fully privatised five years ago.
