British Defence Secretary ignores Turkey's war on Kurds at Nato summit

DEFENCE Secretary Ben Wallace has made a rambling speech to Nato’s Parliamentary Assembly in which he failed to mention that the military bloc is now attacking a group considered a longstanding ally.

Nato member Turkey has invaded northern Syria and is bombing the Kurdish militias there, despite their years of service with US and British special forces in the battle against Isis.

Speaking on the last day of the assembly’s 65th annual session in London today, Mr Wallace skirted the issue entirely and instead made bizarre comments such as “the Nato alliance is a unique balance between democracy and military.”
