Saunders unable to defend title against Murray while Allen steps in to fight Yoka in Paris
A HAMSTRING injury saw WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders withdraw from his title defence against Martin Murray for a second time.
Saunders pulled out previously due to hand damage sustained in training. To complicate matters further, a breakdown in the rematch negotiations between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez has lead to rumours of a potential clash between Saunders and Golovkin later in the year.
In a last-minute pick, Doncaster heavyweight David Allen stepped in to fight top French prospect Tony Yoka on June 23. Yoka, who won Gold at the Rio Olympics, has made a perfect start to the pro game, with four wins out of four.
