DELEGATES at the Scottish Labour conference have voted overwhelmingly to oppose antidemocratic trade deal Ceta because it will “increase inequality and give increasing powers to big business.”
Moving the motion, Unison delegate Angela Feeney warned that the pact between the EU and Canada would cost jobs and “make it easier to open up our public services to private companies.”
It also represents a “massive empowerment of corporations at the expense of democratically elected governments,” she added.
