Thames Water hit with £20.3m fine
THAMES WATER was fined a record £20.3 million yesterday over a major sewage incident that left hundreds ill and killed thousands of fish.
The company failed to prevent huge amounts of untreated effluent from entering the waterway in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Inadequate site management and “a continual failure to report incidents” were to blame for the disaster.
