New metro mayors ‘must have place in Brexit talks’

MAYORS in Britain’s big cities must give regions a voice in Brexit talks, the Institute of Public Policy Research (IPPR) North think tank urges in a report published today.
Metro mayors are to be elected next month in cities including Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol. They will get new devolved powers and represent almost 10 million people with economies worth £214 billion.
