NASUWT: Barriers put up based on parents’ ability to pay
CHILDREN are increasingly facing barriers to opportunities in school as they are dependent on their parents’ ability to pay, a survey by NASUWT revealed yesterday.
Escalating costs faced by parents are to blame, the teaching union said.
Families are facing a covert form of selection, dictating which school they choose for their children and what subjects children can opt to study.
