SCHOOL support staff may join teachers to strike against the government’s forced academisation plans.
Delegates at GMB’s public services conference unanimously endorsed a consultative ballot on industrial action yesterday, warning that Nicky Morgan’s education white paper would lead to a sharp hit on teaching assistants’ terms and conditions.
GMB national secretary Rehana Azam warned that staff pay and terms were still under threat despite hints from the Education Secretary that the plans had been kicked into the long grass.
