Communist Party says result must be respected

BRITAIN’S Communists have welcomed the commitment of the Labour leadership to respect the Leave vote in the EU referendum.

They called for negotiations on Britain’s exit to begin straight away and a fight for a new election to ensure that the talks were conducted by “socialists rather than sociopaths.”

“Britain’s decision to leave the EU has come as a massive and disorienting shock to the political Establishment. This was a working-class revolt,” Morning Star editor Ben Chacko told the Communist Party’s executive committee at the weekend.
