A huge embarrassment but still all to play for
Andrew Muirhead analyses Celtic’s defeat in the Champions League and what new boss Brendan Rodgers needs to do to turn the result around on Wednesday

Celtic’s midweek defeat to Lincoln Red Imps was the worst European defeat in the club’s history. There is no denying that nor can you deny that losing to a team of part-timers is an embarrassment.

Despite this undeniable fact, Brendan Rodgers claimed otherwise, a comment that was rightly ridiculed in many quarters.

The former Liverpool manager said: “I’m not really (shocked). I know these results can happen. We stay calm. We need a performance next week.”
