Tusk claims hated EU-Canada trade deal still on the cards
EU PRESIDENT Donald Tusk claimed yesterday an anti-democratic trade deal with Canada could still be signed today while last-minute talks were held with Belgium’s Wallonia region.
He told MEPs “the summit tomorrow is still possible” after days of talks in Brussels between the national government and its regions appeared to be heading for a breakthrough.
Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said during a break in talks “all necessary documents” could be sent to EU officials later yesterday for a final vetting among member states.
