Turkey: Cops nab paper’s editor and staff

TURKISH police arrested the editor and a dozen staff at newspaper Cumhuriyet (Republic) yesterday in the ongoing media crackdown.

Editor-in-chief Murat Sabuncu, cartoonist Musa Kart, the paper’s lawyer and several columnists were detained, Cumhuriyet reported.

Police had warrants for the detentions of 16 staff members, the paper said.
