Night Tube a crook’s honeypot
ALL-NIGHT services on the London Underground will be “a honeypot for criminals,” Labour warned yesterday after the revelation of a series of safety concerns kept secret by bosses.
Tube unions said concerns over high crime levels and rowdy behaviour were proof that staffing cuts and ticket office closures meant the network would struggle to cope with expanded capacity.
London Underground’s own internal risk assessment gave an 80 per cent likelihood of “offenders target[ing] victims made vulnerable by alcohol,” leading to “theft, robbery and sexual offences.”
