Tube hub staff ballot to strike on job transfers

TUBE control room staff are to be balloted on strike action in a row over pay and the “off-loading” of maintenance responsibilities, TSSA announced yesterday.

The union said London Underground (LU) bosses were “continuing to drag out this unnecessary dispute” and were at risk of “forcing” a strike.

“LU are still guilty of breaking all agreed procedures with the control service and our staff have run out of patience and are prepared to take action because LU have spent four months refusing to negotiate,” the union’s general secretary Manuel Cortes said.
