GEORGE OSBORNE’S Budget will keep Britain in the “same old circle of a failing economy,” his Labour opposite number said yesterday.
Interviewed on the eve of Budget day in the airy food court of Portcullis House, shadow chancellor John McDonnell said Mr Osborne’s ambition was now taking centre stage after Boris Johnson became the favourite to succeed PM David Cameron.
Labour expects Mr Osborne to wheel out “the usual lines of attack” over Labour’s record and dependence on borrowing.
