Army pledges Suu Kyi talks

MYANMAR: Military chiefs pledged to hold talks with Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD) yesterday as the party edged closer to a majority in both houses of parliament.

With some constituencies yet to declare in Sunday’s election, the NLD had won 217 seats in the 440-seat lower house and 110 in the 224-seat upper house.
