EATON Park Cafe in Norwich became the first ever hospitality venue in the city to sign an agreement recognising its workers’ chosen union today.
The voluntary recognition agreement was signed with Unite last week, and sets out negotiating structures for issues such as pay, terms and conditions and dispute procedures. Most of the cafe’s staff are Unite members.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “I am proud of the efforts of our workplace reps Liam and Freddie to secure this agreement with Eaton Park Cafe.
“I hope it will inspire even more hospitality workers to organise with Unite at their workplaces for better jobs, pay and conditions.”
Unite hospitality project worker Kevin Reynolds said: “We look forward to Unite members working with the Eaton Park Cafe to achieve the best possible outcome for staff.”
