VIETNAMESE delegate Hoang Binh Quan told a conference of communist parties in Hanoi at the weekend that the United Nations charter should prevail over military force to resolve inter-state disputes.
Opening the 18th international meeting of communist and workers’ parties since 1998, the head of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s commission for external relations emphasised the importance of national independence and sovereignty in an era of capitalist globalisation.
He proclaimed Vietnam’s commitment to building a socialist society on the basis of self-reliance, co-operation and sustainable development.
