The EU was no friend to RMT members
by Gordon Martin

IT’S often said that to live in interesting times is a curse. Politically and industrially the last two or three years in Scotland have been very interesting and only history will judge whether working-class communities and organised workplaces were blessed or indeed cursed.

It would be entirely understandable if “voting fatigue” was to be found across the electorate in Scotland with the independence referendum, Westminster election, Holyrood election and now the EU referendum, all happening within the space of a couple of years.

What is clear is the boss-class-inspired political cuts, austerity and industrial attacks on workers have not petered out and continue to be relentless.
