MSPs in Holyrood have voted against a motion calling for an investigation into the finances of former US president Donald Trump.

Politicians debated today whether an Unexplained Wealth Order (UWO) should be sought in regard to Mr Trump’s property purchases, with the Scottish Greens suggesting ministers should use powers to open a probe.

A UWO would require the Trump Organisation to reveal how the company financed the purchases of golf resorts in Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire.
