NETBALL: Defending champions London Pulse face regular season table-toppers Manchester Thunder in Saturday afternoon’s Grand Final at the Eastlands Arena.

London edged out Manchester 56-51 on the opening day of the season back in February, but the Thunder hit back with a comfortable 64-52 win in the reverse fixture at the beginning of May.

Manchester are three-time Super League champions and were runners-up in 2024.

SPEEDWAY: Northampton Foxes let an eight-point lead slip after heat 11 and crashed to another Premiership defeat, 42-48 at home to Sheffield Tigers on Thursday evening. Chris Holder top-scored with 16 points from six rides for the Tigers.

Northampton sit bottom of the table, two points adrift of King’s Lynn who were thumped 51-38 at Ipswich despite Max Fricke top-scoring with 14 points for the visitors.

HOCKEY: England’s men are up against Argentina at Lee Valley at lunchtime and Australia on Sunday morning as FIH Pro League action resumes this weekend.

The English are currently third in the table, 10 points behind runaway unbeaten leaders Belgium, with Australia second and Argentina fourth.

England’s women, who lost out twice to Germany last week, face Australia in a bottom-of-the-table double-header.

MEN’S BOXING: Southampton-born Ryan Garner fights Italy’s Michael Magnesi for the WBC interim super featherweight title at the St Mary’s Stadium tomorrow night.

28-year-old Garner is unbeaten in 19 bouts while Magnesi has suffered two defeats in his 28-fight career.

On the undercard, fellow south-coaster Lewis Edmondson is up against Manchester’s Lyndon Arthur for the European and Commonwealth light heavyweight belts.
