ROLEPLAYING in the ruins of interplanetary capitalism. So reads the tagline of Citizen Sleeper, a new hit from indie developer, Jump Over the Age — and I must say, it really is something special. However, I’m hesitant to say too much. It’s a game that plays out better without knowing quite what to expect.
The art style combines 2D anime illustrations, created by the comic artist, Guillaume Singelin, with a clean, minimalistic 3D aesthetic; a pairing that is both striking and effective.
Presented through a consistent red-black palette, it lends the visuals an unmistakable, anarchistic vibe which feels both violent and inviting.
