Holyrood pushed to show strategy for car reduction

ENVIRONMENTAL campaigners have called on the Scottish government to detail how it will reduce car travel by 20 per cent as Car Free Day is marked today.

The annual event, with events across Scotland, highlights how communities could be improved with fewer vehicles on the road.

Gavin Thomson, from Friends of the Earth Scotland, said: “Transport is Scotland’s biggest source of climate emissions, it’s creating dangerous levels of air pollution and it’s costing people far too much money.
