DAMASCUS International airport remains closed to flights after it was seriously damaged in an Israeli air strike, Syria’s foreign ministry confirmed on Saturday.
Missiles fired on Friday, as reported in the Morning Star, struck runways and a terminal building causing all flights to be grounded.
“Landing and departing flights were suspended today till further notification as a result of the Israeli aggression, since it caused heavy damages to the airstrips in several localities and to the navigation lights in addition to the damages [that] occurred in the airport lobby,” a statement said.
