UNISON Scotland blasted the country’s national skills agency today for refusing to pilot a four-day week despite it being Scottish government policy.
The union said that Skills Development Scotland (SDS) has knocked back a proposal to trial the initiative which arose from last year’s pay deal.
A ballot of members had shown overwhelming support for the plan, Unison said, and the policy is backed by most political parties in Holyrood including the governing SNP.
