THE funeral of our beloved Fighting Fund organiser Ivan Beavis takes place today.
The Morning Star and its predecessor the Daily Worker have never been commercial operations. The paper exists not to make a profit but to provide a voice for ordinary working people.
It has only survived through the years because of the dedication and selflessness of comrades like Ivan, who organised fundraisers, promoted and sold the paper year-in, year-out, whatever the political or meteorological weather.
Ivan’s contribution was outstanding, and today we salute that.
