STUC general secretary ROZ FOYER talks to Matt Kerr about the new Scottish First Minister, devolution, and Labour’s attitude to worker power
STUC General Secretary Roz Foyer

AS THE STUC debated its response to new Tory anti-trade union legislation, its general secretary, Roz Foyer spoke to the Morning Star about the challenge, demanding better, and real worker power.

Speaking of the Strikes (minimum services) Bill, she says: “In its current intransigent mood, the UK government will railroad this through … Obviously then we will look at how we mitigate it and devolution will have a role to play.”

The STUC has already extracted a pledge from Scotland’s former deputy first minister John Swinney that the Scottish government would do all it could in its powers to resist the Bill’s implementation, something reinforced by Humza Yousaf as he addressed yesterday’s Congress.
